Giancarlo Stanton stepped to the plate wearing the Golden Sombrero and came around the bases sans this hat. His three-run shot off Chris Rusin in the first inning turned the Rockies into a bunch of zombies. The Rockies recorded just five hits for the night, four of them between Deej and Corey Dickerson.
The Rockies signed the Declaration of Altitude after the game promising to score two runs or less per game away from Coors for the rest of the year. The only way to win the road games from now on is to have the pitching staff have a 0.25 ERA the rest of the season.
Like clockwork, it is a rainy and gloomy day in Denver that goes hand in hand with Colorado’s offense. Forget about chasing Cy Urema by the end of fourth inning tonight. Instead they are hitting the showers themselves, and a very cold one.
I’m still in sdcarp’s front row seat of his luxurious bandwagon. With a seat belt on. Destination: chalkboard in Bob in WV’s classroom. We know what to write. 🙂
A great article talking about this year being a seller’s market. sdcarp, you can beating your rebuild the Rox drums louder.

Man……I’m already beating them loud enough to challenge “The Who’s” all-time concert decibel level record. I’m definitely inflicting permanent hearing loss.
Totally unrelated to Rox baseball (so a much happier subject) – my MTB and I escaped the Front Range Rainforest for the Western Slope today. It’s summer out here! Rode in Eagle this morning. Fruita next two days. If you guys ever do a GJ meetup you won’t have to twist my arm much.
Pathetic bench = no bunt to play for the tying run on the road = strikeout/runner doesn’t advance. Really, when Walt’s choices are Descalso or Ynoa, something’s wrong with the roster composition.
Honestly – look back at the Rockies since their inception. They have never been able to “manufacture” runs. This is one of the fundamental reasons I believe they’re consistently bad (every year) on the road.
Gopherg strikes again!
Gopherg just made it a moot point, but why oh why are we still carrying 2 utility infielders on this roster? Is it because they treat Tulo as an old man who absolutely can’t be used (other than as a pinch hitter) on his “planned days off?”
