Another Rox Shut Up Tonight?

Colorado Rockies are now at Busch Stadium where they will spend most of the time admiring the St. Louis Arch from the dugouts.  Despite the fact that Jorge De La Rosa (13-10, 4.27) is pitching tonight, the Rox hitters are projected to look like middle school team facing Adam Wainwright (17-9, 2.62).  Will any Rox runner reach third base tonight?  Even one RISP hit?

Boone Logan underwent a successful surgery to remove a small bone spur in his left elbow.  What? I thought that’s what they did a year ago.  Why didn’t the medical staff do that back in spring training?  Why did they let him continue to pitch most of the year with that small bone spur?

RWO fans send their thoughts and prayers to Giancarlo Stanton and his family after he got drilled in the face/ jaw last night.  That seriously derailed Miami Marlins’ chances to rally for a wild card spot.

I’m here to eat a little crow again. This past offseason, I made some jokes at the expense of the Baltimore Orioles regarding their penchant for backing out of pending FA deals due to failed physicals. Now it’s September and Boone Logan just had elbow surgery (again) and Brett Anderson has a bum back after pitching about 2 innings (only a slight exaggeration). Meanwhile, Baltimore is comfortably ahead in the NL East, didn’t sign any injury bums that I’m immediately… Read more »

Dear St. Louis Cardinals: introducing (drum roll) your ticket to another National League Central Championship, the Colorado Rockies! Enjoy your sweet ride this weekend! I am so sick of the Cards–and would so love another NL team like the Pirates (and god forbid the Giants) to take the pennant this year! I have to admit I admire whatever it is that they do to remain so good. Somebody, RWOers, please tell me what it is that they do. Serious question.… Read more »

I read in the Post that Walt said the guys aren’t giving up. Most of the at-bats I saw tonight looked like they were going through the motions.

And I especially enjoy watching DJ come up in the ninth with RISP….

Roxnsox, quite simple they have culture of winning. They draft, they develop, they win. They are frugal, smart, and extremely important they are baseball people.

Thanks, konaman. I’m sure you are right, and especially “they are baseball people” or know how to hire the right ones or change when things are not working. Frugal? Interesting. I don’t know your context for the word, but didn’t they just acquire a couple expensive pitchers? Are they willing to spend on free agents and big trades? Yes. Maybe “frugal” means smart with money rather than sparing.
