The Rockies will play the first game of this 3-game series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs this afternoon at 12:20 PM. Today will mark the first time either Tyler Colvin or DJ LeMahieu will have played at Wrigley since being traded to the Rockies for Ian Stewart and Casey Weathers. The Rockies clearly won the trade, in terms of current play, when looking at the overall numbers:
TYLER COLVIN: .294 | .333 | .551
DJ LEMAHIEU: .281 | .305 | .377
IAN STEWART: .201 | .292 | .335 (out for season with wrist injury)
CASEY WEATHERS: 6.48 ERA with AA
By any stretch of the imagination the trade would be considered bright spot on Dan O’Dowd’s trading history. Colvin doesn’t really think about it though:
I haven’t really thought about (comparing the trade). I made some good friends in Chicago.
DJ is looking forward to the series in Chicago:
It’s been great having Ty here. It would be nice to go back there and keep rolling.

Another game un-televised today…
The Chicago telecast is on WGN and is not blacked out in Denver. I am watching on DirecTV channel 307.
They are playing it in Utah as well…
Thought I had the blackout rules completely figured-out. Completely wrong. Now I have no idea.
Through 3 innings Pomeranz has 34 pitches and has not given up any hits.
Far to early for a no-hitter watch but i’m just wondering… At his pitches/inning rate he could get into the 7th inning. What happens if he still has a no-hitter? Would he continue or get pulled due to the pitch count?
There would be a TON of blow-back if they pulled him with a no-no intact…i remember a pitcher getting pulled a few years ago because of high pitch count and he was torn up in the media for not letting the kid keep going…I personally would love to see him stay in, but you are right – still too early…
ouch. that was awful to listen to.
Even worse to watch. Wanted to blind myself after 🙂
