Braun wins appeal

Ryan Braun successfully appealed his 50-game suspension after being detected for a PED performance enhancing substance.  A three-man panel ruled 2-1 in favor of the appeal.  The process appeared to show that the drug testing and appeal processes is working for both sides.

Pretty amazing.I wonder if “facts”will come out.If a court trial it would be a not guilty, not necessarily innocent.I have hoped all along that a good role model and player reaching his peak would be found innocent. This still may leave a “taint”unless the facts are overwhelmingly in his favor.

Braun failed a drug test for PEDs, but merely got off on a technicality because his sample was not sent to the lab within 24 hours. In the court of public opinion, he’s still a cheater.

It’s no different than OJ being found not guilty by a jury, do any of us think he’s innocent?

Cisco Kid, do you have a source? I’ve been trying to track down the particular reason this decision was overturned but there seems to be an absence of information.

Seems to me that he is guilty of taking the drug or drugs, but got off on the technicality with the chain of custody, meaning the company who handles the blood didn’t turn it in within the mandatory 24 hours. It will be interesting how his numbers compare this year if he decides to get off the drugs???

While I believe he took something, his numbers are going to suffer anyway without Prince hitting behind him.

Braun sounded convincing in his live statement and press conference, but so did Rafael Palmiero. Not much sympathy from this fan. Lesser players didn’t have the good fortune to be able to hire a team of lawyers and paid the price. Go ask Mike Jacobs or Eliezer Alphonzo about how they feel today.

I agree that the real problem here is that it was leaked. However, since it was leaked and we know that the test failed, I wouldn’t say he is getting crushed for nothing. In my mind, he is guilty. It’s impossible to un-ring the bell.

Lets get down to brass tacks on this one………the real question is what’s his fantasy value for 2012! :o) Lets see:

1. I’ll presume he’s under a testing microscope, and will therefore play clean.
2. Relentless media pressure
3. No Prince hitting behind him.
4. A team that doesn’t look as a good…..and may well be out of the race in the last 4-6 weeks.

Does his value go from $40+ in a 5×5 league to less than $30? 25?
