There was nothing to see in yesterday’s game as JDLR gave up seven runs in 3.1 innings. If there was anything to see, it was Eddie Butler who was pulled from the rotation to do a long relief stint. He pitched 2.2 innings of one-hit ball and no runs allowed on only 33 pitches.
Today the fastest pitcher on Colorado’s staff (Chettis) goes against Steven Wright. Rockies has a bad history against soft and softer tossing pitchers. Wright maxes out at only 85 MPH. In the first two innings, the batters didn’t know what to do with his knuckleballs and took passive underwater swings. They may need a lot of help from some passed balls to score runs.
The game started at 5:10 MDT and the score is 1-0 in favor of the good guys after two innings. CarGo had a ground ball single and advanced twice on passed balls before scoring on Mark Reynolds’ swinging bunt just past the pitcher’s mound.
