It looks as if Carlos Gonzalez is healthy enough to start today’s game as he is entered back into the line-up at his usual third spot. Also of note is Edgmer Escalona penciled into the pen, replacing Tyler Chatwood who gave up three hits and one run in an innings work last night.
Here is the line-up for tonight’s game that
Marco Scutaro (2B)
Dexter Fowler (CF)
Carlos Gonzalez (LF)
Troy Tulowitzki (SS)
Todd Helton (1B)
Michael Cuddyer (RF)
Wilin Rosario (C)
Chris Nelson (3B)
Jamie Moyer (P)

What do you guys think of Escalona getting called up to replace Chatwood?
I kind of expected the Chatwood after last night not because of his performance but to bring in a fresh arm. I also believe we are no more than a couple of weeks away before we can bring yet another fresh arm in Josh Outman. If the game isn’t tight, I expect Reynolds to be a bit “over used” to keep the other BP arms fresh when we add Outman.
Chatwood is pretty excited to go down and get back to being a starter. I think this is a great move and hopefully he will have success in the Sky Sox rotation…we need starters at this point, not bullpen arms…

It takes a different mind set for starters and relievers. Chatwood has been developed as a starter and that is what he needs to be continued to be developed as.
Escalona had already been switched to a reliever in the minor leagues and I believe he did better as a reliever than he did as a starter. He has been doing really well relieving at the Springs so far. He should be a help to the bullpen.
Chat has been setup for tonight’s game…i will be watching it a bit delayed because of my son’s soccer game tonight…
I believe the chat part will start at 6:30 and if nobody types anything for :30 minutes it will go into “standby” mode, but not sure what that means…
Just heard Rafael Ortega will lead off tonight for the Nuts and play center…great kid to keep your eye on if you want to see the future of the team…
Just watch out Escalona’s bad attitude! Sometimes he gets into trouble just for that.
That will be a rare sight indeed – a bad attitude on the Rockies great chemistry team!
His attitude last season here in Venezuela was awful
Was he angry on the field or off the field?
Honestly, someone getting mad could possibly be what this team needs. We could use a Carlos Zambrano melt down to actually give these guys some perspective that just showing up to the park with a smile isn’t enough.
Well, he was suspended 10 games by the Leones by behavior on the field and with his teammates in the dugout (they traded him after the season), not the league..
Hey, if anyone is at the game – can you send me some pictures? I can get you a my text number if you want – just contact me above…
I don’t want to jinx him, but it appears that Edwar Cabrera is throwing a no hitter through seven innings for Tulsa.
Great Julian, now he’s gonna blow it because you jinxed him!!! 🙂
Cabrera just lost no no in 9th
Julian did it. 1 hitter. 8 innings, 8 Ks.
What happened to Joel Klatt? Has he been let go already? He is still doing his morning radio show.
I hope Klatt is gone. The show is much better without him.
Not a Klatt fan. At least doing baseball. Marc Stout did a great interview with Moyer after the game. I thought both Moyer and Stout werre about ready to cry. Glad my wife had already gone to bed. Otherwise she would have started crying and I would have joined her. Frankly Root has too many people doing the games. Tracy R and Stout would be all they need for the pre and post game shows. Don’t really need the feminine… Read more »
Sorry about jinxing Cabrera. It was a good night for our pitchers in the minors. Not only did Cabrera pitch a great game, but so did Moscoso for CS and Slaat for Modesto.
I just checked Joel Klatt’s Twitter, and he says he has the San Diego series off, will be back for Milwaukee. Very odd scheduling. One never knows who will be on TV and who won’t.
