Those that follow the Rockies closely will point out that CarGo has dialed his diving ways back quite a bit, either to curb his injury potential or maybe because it wouldn’t seem right going all out in a hopeless season. No matter the reason, he is still considered one of the best with the leather on the field at any given time and thankfully he is being recognized as such.
Last years change of the rules from recognizing the outfielder, regardless of position, to the specific position left CarGo out of the running because he played each position almost equally. This season he was almost entirely rooted to left and has been rewarded with his second GG nomination.
It will be steep competition with Braun and Prado in the mix, but it would give a little bit of joy to the fans that stuck with the team, thick or thin, through the horrible season that was 2012.
