Chacin Turns Back Pirates 4-2

Jhoulys Chacin received four runs of support which was more than enough for his dominant victory. He went eight innings giving up six hits, no walks, and one run on just 96 pitches. Tulo launched his 20th homer leading off the second inning. Pittsburgh knotted the score at 1-1 in the third inning on a Andrew McCutchen single. The Rockies struck for three runs in the sixth inning on a Tulo infield hit and a two run single by Toddfather. Rex Brothers came on for his eighth save giving up a single run on back to back doubles for a 4-2 final.

Down on the farm, Jon Gray was moved to high A Modesto and did well in his first start there. Eddie Butler was promoted to AA Tulsa this week.

JDLR will attempt to keep the Rockies tumbling while the helping the Pirates hold off the Cardinals in the NL Central West. The game will start at 5:05 pm MT on ROOT Saturday night.
