Chacin vs Giants Lineup

The Rockies will take on the San Francisco Giants today at 4:15.  The Giants will have Tim Lincecum on the mound , while the Rockies will have Chacin. The rest of the lineup is either a mirror of last year, with everyone healthy, or one that could make an appearance on opening day, depending on your glass half-empty-full view.

ROX LINEUP (3/17)

Fowler (CF)
Rutledge (2B)
Gonzalez (LF)
Tulowitzki (SS)
Cuddyer (RF)
Helton (1B)
Hernandez (C)
Nelson (3B)
Chacin (P)

I’d settle for 100 hits, but that’s just me.

Watching the game live on MLB.tv. It’s also on MLB network tape delay tonight. Believe it’s at 6pm MT.

Only two hts off Chacin were solid hits. The others were slow rollers that had seeing eyes or pop ups that fell in no man s land.

Seems like fifth inning is always the worst inning for Rockies staters. I would change pitchers once the fifth inning starts in the regular season.

Then I saw sliders without much break, and even some “fastballs” clocked as low as 86 by the 5th inning. I assume they were fastballs because they had… Read more »

That’s not good. So I propose a four inning limit for starters with the exception of Francis. I’m happy that it looks like Francis will be starting the Coors Field opener since he has the experience and knowledge to pitch at Coors. But then if he starts season opener in Milwaukee on Monday, he should be able to go on Saturday. (or Tuesday-Sunday). I still think Nicasio needs to be either in long relief or in AAA until he has… Read more »

Bunnies – that’s cold, RMH! I’m not an Escalona fan, but I will say that the line drive that hit him will probably allow the Rox to send him on a rehab to AAA, giving him a chance to be the first guy back with the big club if someone gets hurt. Nicasio: I do think he’s better suited to the pen, but right now I say start him, and forget about that 3rd pitch. If he can throw 96… Read more »

While I hated to see the Rockies lose, our neighbor from Laramie got the homerun ball. Now there is a small world!!
