Jorge De La Rosa is experiencing, “forearm tightness” and has been scratched from tonight’s start against the Padres. It is his left forearm that isn’t quite up to snuff, according to the team. Manship will replace him in the lineup.
De La Rosa also missed a bullpen session. He said he wants to pitch Sunday, but that is still not for sure. He feels it isn’t a big deal, but with his recent Tommy John surgery, it would be wise to make certain he is good to go. He suffered the same issues at the end of the season as he was coming back from TJ’s, so it could be a sign of something deeper.
De La Rosa’s scratch from tonight’s start follows Chacin’s scratch from last nights start with lower back tightness.

Two pitchers in two days…not a good omen…
DOD had better get on the phone and find us one or two starting pitchers.
The Rockies sure have bad luck with starting pitchers being injured. Rarely see their bullpen arms get injured. Doesn’t really make sense.
Helton HR – good to see!
Plus a Rosario and Rutledge HR. maybe they will be bullies after all.
Rox looking at Jon Garland? Like we don’t have enough starting pitchers that are injured?
Jon Garland is a ground ball pitcher and works fast. He has shown that he was healthy at the Seattle camp. Seattle just had too many #5 starters and Garland is a perfect fit for Coors Field.
Tweets last night seem to hint that Torrealba will make the team. So it looks like the Rockies are going to dump Hernandez hopefully for an arm that’s good enough to be in our bullpen.
When the Garland signing becomes official the Rockies will return Dan Rosenbaum to the Nationals per Thomas Harding.
