Doubleheader Lineup and Chat (Game 1)

The Rockies game, originally scheduled to be played Monday night, was postponed due to Denver spring-like conditions.  That pesky white-water kept falling from the heavens, putting a crimp in the style those wearing purple.  Not to worry, the game has been scheduled to be the first of a double-header.

Monday’s game was supposed to be a tribute game, joining the rest of the league, for Jackie Robinson.  The players had their #42 jerseys already laid out, and instead of letting them go to waste, they will be used in the first game today.

The lineup will also be recycled from yesterdays card.  Missing from the lineup is Dexter Fowler, who fouled a pitch off his foot in Sunday’s sweeptastic game.  The team has said that the x-rays were negative, so possibility is there for his name to make an appearance on Game 2’s card, or possible late Game 1 viewing.

If our record at the end of the year is as good against Met and Dodger blue as it is against Pad and Brew blue, we will all be excited!

Put these 2 teams on a charter flight to Phoenix. Play one game tonight at SRF, double header tomorrow at SRF, and then Thursday’s scheduled game at SRF. They’ll sell more tickets there than in this weather here!

They had a short pre-game show at the scheduled 12:30 pm time. Said the game was scheduled for 2:30 pm and they would be back at 1:50 pm for the real pre-game show. If they do start as now projected there is no way the 2nd game could start at the planned 6:30 pm. This is not a true double header so the park will need to be cleared before the night game crowd can be admitted. In any case… Read more »

They were still clearing the warning track of snow at 12:40 pm. The delay is most likely they could project having the field ready for play.

No precip at my house IN THE MOUNTAINS (ok, 35 miles away ;). But doesn’t seem like it could snow 4 to 6 in Denver with almost zero happening or expected up here…it is some crazy weather behavior with this one though

Officially announced to start at 3:10 p.m. MT. I guess it now becomes regular doubleheader. I’ll be having dinner at sports column and then go to game afterwards. Historical game for lowest temperature and most snow that I can brag about for rest of life. LOL.
