Final Game of Miserable Trip

Bad news – pitching mismatch:  Tyler Matzek (1-2, 4.24) vs. Doug Fister (6-2, 2.83).

Good news – Nolan Arenado definitely back in Rox lineup Thursday night.  Boone Logan pitched last night and will pitch again tonight to get back-to-back day rehab in and will be activated this weekend after a couple days off.  CarGo will take batting practice when the Rockies return home and also will hit in live batting practice vs. Eddie Butler.  In other news, the Rockies signed Baseball America’s #12 international prospect Pedro Gonzalez a lanky (6′ 4″ 160 lbs) shortstop who is 17 years of age.

I turned on the game as they were going into the bottom of the 7th. Lo and behold they were tied 3-3 and according to G and H (thankfully no F) Matzuk was pitching well. He gets one out and Walt comes and gets him. I thought to myself why? I figured he must have thrown 110+ pitches or had been struggling but G & H say he had retired 7 in a row (later they said 8 in a… Read more »
