Could they go 3-10 (by my possibly faulty math) to reach 100 losses? Oh, who cares? It’s just a big round number.

Off the baseball topic: I would sure like to see the Broncos’ “new” defense show up sometime soon.

Tulsa lost in the final game of the Texas League championship series today, 5-0. Eddie Butler let up 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings. He’s had a tough last part of the season. I wonder if the Rockies will call up Christian Adames to get a few more major league at bats and innings in the field. He or Ynoa should be the utility infielder on the team next year, with Culberson and his sub.200 average being sent elsewhere.

Julian,
Why bother calling up Adames? So he can get as many at bats as Parker has received since his call up? Weiss will continue to use Barnes and Culberson.

Since Asheville and Tulsa reached the championship round of their league, any guesses as to what the point of emphasis of this front office will be during off season to take focus off their abysmal record?

If I’m the farm director or head of player development, whatever title they think is appropo, I move all the Drillers to the Springs so they can get used to baseball at altitude and in a band box. Same way with Asheville, move them all up one letter. Rushing players, more often than not, seems to slow down their development. Also, these guys have turned into winners so let them win at the next level, not sit on the bench… Read more »

OK, Class, repeat after me: We will not be optimistic next spring. We will not be optimistic next spring. We will… Every year our team stinks and yet we somehow get to thinking over the winter that maybe this will work or that will solve a problem or whatever. Come spring we always start to believe that maybe the Rockies have something. They could go 24-0 to start next season and I won’t be convinced. I’ll keep throwing my money… Read more »

B i WV…I agree completely…nicely done. We will not be optimistic next year. We will not be optimistic next year. We will not be optimistic next year. We will NOT be optimistic next year. I will still go to spring training for the month but I will be drinking a lot more beer and socializing virtually the entire spring. No team breakdowns for me. Hopefully some of our RWOers will be able to join me…for cocktails…as I’m thinking about walking… Read more »

Ed – I agree with you 100% (about our chances AND drinking cocktails). The only thing the Rox can do to give me optimism is somehow unload Tulo and Cargo and infuse the system with some talent and show me there’s a plan in place. Short of that – we’ll make a visit to Phoenix and go to a variety of Parks and watch as many teams as possible.

The only thing that will make me optimistic is if they clear out all of upper management.

VERY intriguing info from SB Nation: “The main affiliation currently up in the air is Tulsa, which has been Colorado’s Double-A home for more than a decade. Tulsa is the lone Texas League team that has yet to extend its PDC after this season. Five other Double-A teams — two in the Eastern League and three in the Southern League — have expired PDCs. The Rockies also still need to work out deals for their Triple-A and Short-Season A operations.… Read more »
