First Game of Spring: Lineup

The Rockies first game of spring looks quite a bit like an opening day lineup.  All the key players are there (Tulo, Cargo, Arenado, etc.), with other players vying for a spot on the field as well (LeMahieu, Barnes, etc).  It is exciting to get the season underway, even if it is a spring training game and the main boys will be walking away after an All Star like two inning appearance.

Franklin Morales will get the ball and try to show why he is suited for the fifth spot in the rotation.

In other Spring Training notes Drew Stubbs is out of the lineup with an esophagus issue.  Apparently he has a difficult time swallowing solid foods at random times and it flared up over the last day or so, making it difficult for him to get nourishment.  He was treated, but the team is taking precautions by benching him.  He seemed very nonchalant about the whole thing.

Injury update on Jayson Aquino who was hit in the head by a come-backer yesterday in intersquad games.  He was taken to the hospital, but didn’t have a concussion and is feeling much better today.

Just listening to Spilly filling in for Les Shapiro on ESPN Denver. Shapiro is going on vacation to Italy with his family and CJ asked Spilly if he had ever visited Italy. Spilly responded that yes, he had visited Rome, Barcelona, and Florence.

That’s what we love about Spilly. He’s not a Rhodes Scholar, he just might be a modern day Yogi.

Classic! BTW, speaking from personal experience, it’s easy to drink too much in Barcelona! Good for Spilly.
