Game 1 Wrap, Game 2 Lineup and Chat

The Rockies can do one thing really well this season and that is they can hit!

  • CarGo went second-deck with a monster home-run in the bottom of the third.  He also hit a in the first.
  • Helton hit a 2-RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, which would prove to be the go-ahead run putting the team up 5-4.
  • EYj had an excellent day with the bat.  He was 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI’s.  He was just a few feet shy of a home run in the bottom of the eighth to plate Jordan Pacheco for some insurance.  EYj cruised comfortably into third with his speed to burn.

Nicasio was roughed up over five innings.  He let the Mets get six hits and four runs off of him.  Two of the four runs were via the David Wright long-ball.  Wright golfed two identical pitches over the center field wall.  Nicasio did have five strike-outs.

Last season that type of outing would usually lead to a loss, but with the offense the team is showing early on, as long as the score is close, and the bullpen keeps it clean (four innings, 2 hits and 0 runs), we have a chance!
