Giambi on DL, Cabrera Called Up for Start

In one of the more “creative” excuses for putting a player on the DL, Jason Giambi has been placed on the 15-day list due to a “Viral Infection”…

It’s good news that they found something…I thought it was just Father Time catching up with me.

Jason Giambi

With the DL move it is unlikely Giambi will be traded before the 7/31 deadline.

Cabrera will be called up to take Giambi’s place on the 40 man roster and hopes to do a bit better than his only other start in the bigs: 3 HR’s in 2 1/3 innings.  His 19.29 ERA will be a big anchor around his neck tonight, but with a little luck it will be much reduced by nights end.

Just like Guthrie. Meanwhile, the Mets had interest in Ramon Hernandez, but now they’ve fallen out of contention, so they don’t want him. Word was O’Dowd was holding out for a prospect. A salary dump alone would’ve made perfect sense. As to why Hernandez wouldn’t have any value, let… Read more »

I agree. I think the Rockies should be dumping players much faster than the Miami Marlins right now.
