More good news continued to pour in for the Rockies; as reported by jaredean three Rockies (Tulo, Nazty, NoDo) are leading the balloting at their respective positions for the All Star game. On the injury front, a rough timetable were reported by trainer Keith Dugger that both Brett Anderson and Tyler Chatwood could be pitching by mid-July. CarGo is day to day with his various assortments of bumps and bruises. The “bad” news is that Franklin Morales was announced as the starter for Saturday’s game at Cleveland.
Jordan Lyles (5-1, 3.45 ERA) will oppose swing pitcher Roberto Hernandez (2-2, 3.83 ERA). The Rockies are at a critical juncture on their current road trip. A win would enable them to even up the current trip record at 3-3 while taking the season series from the Phillies. A loss would would put tremendous pressure on the team to win the series in Cleveland to keep the team respectable despite a 23-inning drought at one point. Both Tulo and CarGo are out of the lineup tonight.
Colorado is currently at 12-11 in the month of May. Historically they have not performed very well in May.
