Sign Millwood to a minor league deal with a nice contract if he makes the club and a player option to void the contract at the end of spring training if he doesn’t make it. It should be low risk for him because if he can’t make the Rockies staff he won’t be good enough to make anybody else’s staff anyway.

Good signing. Something to be said about guys who aren’t afraid of Coors. Plus I’ve posted it before, but even with injury/age/reduced velocity, Francis has had an uncanny ability to stay basically the same pitcher. Here’s his Fielding Independent Pitching ERAs (taking out luck/park factors) starting in his first full season, 2005: 4.74 4.38 4.19 4.81 3.88 4.10 4.27 For us, (sadly) that’s an ace starter. What about bringing Millwood back? He ended the season with a sore shoulder, but… Read more »

Ag, nothing will change with the GM position until Monfart decides to clean house, which we know will never happen. We had DOD for 13 years and who knows how many we’ll get with Geivett. Just long enough for him to train his protege. Unfortunately it’s a vicious cycle.

Cisco is 100% CORRECT and I can say that was made absolutely clear when Mr. Monfort and Mr. O”Dowd were on the Dave Logan show.

Realisticly I’d be thrilled with .500 this season.

Now they need to move Fowler to make room for the future All Star CF. You all know who I am talking about.

The real problem still is not replacing Kelli McGregor. I once suggested Steve Young and one RWOer said he didn’t want a football player in a baseball office. If you didn’t know, McGregor was a NFL football player himself. Hiring Steve Young would be the best move of the season. Just dreaming. 🙁

SERIOUSLY ?!?! Leake for Fowler? NO WAY would I do that. What happened to Homer Bailey? I truly hope Rosnethal is full of BS. These other “throw ins” better be good.

Geivett, sir you are full of it.

I don’t know much about Leake, but I like his relatively low walk and HR rates. Why don’t you like him?

I guess game 4 of the nlds is still fresh in my mind. I see you mention a low hr rate. I thought that was the biggest complaint in Cincy. He struggled at times keeping the ball down.

I’m disappointed that the Rockies didn’t make a stronger push for Daniel Schlereth. He ended up signing a minor league contract. I would think we could have gave him a minimum guarantee.
