Jhoulys Chacin will take the mound in a televised game today against the Cincinnati Reds, a team reeling from yesterdays report that Ryan Madson will require Tommy Johns. Madson, who signed a one-year $8.5 Million with the Reds, was informed yesterday that his ulnar collateral ligament “was torn off the bone”. Because Madson signed a one year deal it wasn’t eligible for insurance, meaning the Reds will have to eat it. Not sure if we will see Marshall in the closers role today for the Reds or if Chapman will come out of the bullpen, both ideas thrown around after the Madson news, but we do know we will see the following line-up from the Rockies at 2:00 on Root:
CF Eric Young Jr.
2B Jonathan Herrera
LF Carlos Gonzalez
SS Troy Tulowitzki
1B Todd Helton
RF Michael Cuddyer
C Ramon Hernandez
3B Casey Blake
RHP Jhoulys Chacin

Todd keeps hitting the ball very hard. He missed 2 or 3 hrs the last 10 days..rest that back Todd! Another good offensive game today. The Rox seem to be putting it together ..counting down the days til Houston.
De La Rosa pitched batting practice yesterday…very good news!
Go ROX
Watching this one on delay right now. The best possible news: Casey Blake with a HR (his second in the last few games, the first one coming in a AAA game), and Helton with 2 HRs. The old men are rounding into form just in time! (Chris Nelson is probably not so thrilled …)
File in the category of “one team’s proven winner is another team’s choke artist” — “All these years later, we finally have an admission from a Twins player that the Twins are psyched out when they play the Yankees in the playoffs. Actually, two Twins players. Ex-Twins star Torii Hunter said some Twins players were beaten before they started, which finally confirms what has long been suspected: that the Twins are intimidated by the Yankees. There’s a lot to be said about mystique of the Red Sox and Yankees. How many guys have left those teams and won championships? Not many. So I don’t hold it against players to much. Everyone loses to those guys.
Alex White was much more fun to watch pitch than Chacin! White has good stuff!
