Well, there goes any hope of Mark Cuban buying the dodgers. Joe Torre resigned today so he could join a group looking to buy the dodgers. With Torre in the mix I see his group being highly favored to win the bid and, as happened with the Rangers, the odds turning against Cuban and his pocket change. Others looking to purchase the historic franchise include former owner Peter O’Malley as well as a group that includes Orel Hershiser and Steve Garvey.
In a statement released by the league, Torre said:
I am so appreciative of the chance the commissioner gave me to see the game from a different perspective by working for Major League Baseball, especially during such a great time for our sport. in that case may i just say how much i don’t like the Giants??? Especially one very whiny pitcher…
That’s interesting, now Cuban can buy a real team The Rockies!!! Wow just imagine the fun we would have.
Maybe he could buy the Rays and move them somewhere they’d be appreciated!
I second Jaredean’s comment. I hate the whinny Giants and their fans. BTW I also hate the 49ers, not that I have anything against the city of SF; but it’s the same annoying fan base.
For the sake of staying on topic, I always liked Joe Torre. Classy guy.
