Big mistake yesterday to run Ottavino out there with a eight run lead. Now we lose the game tonight cuz he’s unavailable

Memo to Rox “braintrust”:
Please pull the plug on EYjr. The poor guy just looks lost and overmatched.

Cisco, it should be obvious to everyone by now that the EY experiment is over. It just boggles my mind that they’d stick with him when they have a guy who actually was a better than league-average outfielder last year still toiling away in obscurity in Colorado Springs. Sure, he didn’t project to do the same this year, and sure, he got off to a very poor start this spring, but this is just getting ridiculous, keeping EY (and starting… Read more »

I’ve been a fan but agree with you wholeheartedly Ag.He seems to have regressed at the plate and on the basepaths.Sorry Pooter, last year I was with you but no more.

As brilliant a dissection of a player as we’ve ever had here. Although he is a role model to be praised, he is NOT a MLB-quality offensive or defensive player. The dropped fly ball didn’t impact the game but that doesn’t alter the fact he is a liability both at the plate and in the field. I cannot fathom how the 1b ump missed that call at first…however, we caught a break when the 3b ump missed the call in… Read more »

Once again the Rox have kept a player way too long. At the beginning of the season they could have at least traded EYJ for a bag of balls but now they’ll get nothing.

Junior you have officially blown your opportunity! The guys swing is so screwed up right now that when he swings his front foot is up in the air! Try hitting a baseball with your weight entirely on your back foot, I’m suprised he can get a ball to the warning track doing that! I wanted a guy that was aggressive and a spark plug out of the leadoff spot. Instead 2013 has looked like Neife Perez at the plate and… Read more »

I’m still a fan of EYJ and hope he gets another shot. Just for the record. I am a big fan of the EYJ that appeared in 2012, not this 2013 Junior. Very dissapointing.

And for the record, I like EY — hard to tell, but I do. Before the season I posted here that I want him to get 400 plate appearances to see what he can do, under the “what do we have to lose” theory. But things changed. We’re actually competitive so far. Pitching has been much improved, Tulo is healthy, and most importantly the Dodgers collapsed with age/injury and the Giants pitching may be nearing its expiration date. EY getting… Read more »

What hasn’t been mentioned in this discussion involving EYjr is that a bench that is already short a player with the team currently carrying 8 relievers is that more weakened when EYjr doesn’t start. Rox are in a bit of a pickle the next few days because of Chatwood’s injury. They’ll probably have to activate Francis a bit earlier than they want to so he can start in Chatwood’s spot on Sat. That means that Corpas will probably be sent… Read more »

Bob in WV,

Not sure I understand your comments in the game chat.

“Ego can say what he wants, but that’s two innings in a row that Dex would have made the play.”

When have I ever said anything negative about William’s defense? It’s his horrible ABs that drive me crazy. I actually think William is a very good defensive CF and agree that he would have made a couple plays last night that EY didn’t make.

While we sit here and bash EYJ we also need to realize that Tulo and Cargo went a combined 0-11.

Yes, we pointed that out in the chat.

Are you comparing EYJ to Cargo and Tulo?

nope. just stating that not all the blame needs to go on EYJ for the loss. But like I said above, I admit to being proven wrong regarding Junior.
