Lineup for Afternoon, Herrera at Second

The lineup for today’s afternoon game includes Johnny “Sparkplug” Herrera at leadoff. In what seems like the 53rd rubber match this season, Scutaro will watch from the bench. Helton will also make a rare “day game after a night game” start at first.

Wow, is MMJT finally staggering the players day off? I see a trend in the last few days.

Jaredean, I’ll second that and go you one more: wish they would let us watch opposing teams’ broadcasts anytime on Extra Innings. It would be fun and interesting to hear the other announcers talk about the Rox. (Oh, wait, they have to “market” to me on Root… )

I’m no broadcast expert but I don’t know why ROOT wouldn’t show this game? I’d much rather watch a game against the Dodgers then some afternoon game against the Pirates or Marlins later in the year.

Couldn’t agree more. I makes zero sense. If the game is home ONLY Root can show it UNLESS … caveats 1) Fox … they take presidence over everyone 2) ESPN but games are shown on multiple networks sometimes. Extra Innnings is always blacked out home or away. You might check MLB Network and see what they are showing. Other than that MLB wants you to buy an app for tv or radio Maybe we should start a COMPLAIN TO ROOT… Read more »

And arguably the most exciting-“best”-game of the season.I was lucky enough to tune KOA for last few innings.Corporate BS at the “year of the fans” expense.

What’s this?? Pomeranz didn’t spot LA a first inning lead? No fair. If I was a Dodgers fan I would demand my money back.

I was glad to see Helton in the lineup today given the off day tomorrow.

Here in Sarasota, Fla. I’m watching the game (Dodger crew) on MLB.com end what I see is Pomeranz pitching well enough through 4, but I’m concerned that his fastball hasn’t been over 90. He’s throwing 88-89 MPH ‘fastballs’ behind in the count, which is scary. He’s supposed to throw in low 90s, no? It could be that the speed gun is slow and it could be that he just doesn’t have his best fastball today, but considering his ‘forearm tightness’… Read more »

it might just be me but when the rockies have a close game i just have no confidence in them at all, they always seem to shoot themselves in the foot, wow look wild pitch by brothers eliminating the double play next batter gives up a double, πŸ™

I like this team exponentially better than last year. We have heart this year. We aren’t going to win them all, but just look at us fight right back with Scutaro, Herrera sac, then Dex drives him home.

FIGHT!

Jim Tracy’s micro managing worked wonders in the bottom of 8th. I was sure that with Scutaro on 2B and one out, JT was going to call back Dex and send Giambi to the plate. That non-move worked out with an RBI single followed by CarGo’s HR. CarGo’s turn to be player of the month for May!

Over managing did it again. Maybe the can win it in the bottom of the 9th. But I’m sick of Tracy trying to show how smart he is. Of course he’s manager for life or whatever they call it.

Why give kemp the bond treatment put the tying run on with 1 out remaining i Don’t like that move then a single and kemp scores the tying run, i stand by my point that the rockies are fun to watch but tracy is a bad in game manager

Hope Baseball Tonight has the ending on highlights (surely the Dodger network showed the friggin game). It was an exciting one to listen to at work, though! Heart in throat, heart in shoes, heart soaring – several times πŸ™‚

Great ending. But we probably could have won it without going into the bottom of the 9th. Manager tells his closer, “your not good enough to get their best hitter out”, walk him and pitch to the guy who got his first homer of his career last night. To me it was a horrible call by Tracy, but Rockies overcome their manager. Great ending and guess what. Twice in this series our starting pitcher pitched well and got into the… Read more »

I was right with you guys at the time; it seemed like the wrong move to walk Kemp and put the tying run on base. But I’m going to choose to believe that Kemp would have just homered off Betancourt anyway with the same net result. All’s well that ends well.
