While the box score doesn’t look good reading the pitch by pitch seems like Chacin actually pitched pretty good. Next time out is for real. The only issue is the GO to FO ratio. In ST things may not always bring results you desire. But it seemed like only a few great hits.

was it televised?

Jardean- I think Dex watched Kemp last night and his too cool for prime time CF.

we were at the game, and Dex’s play was an error. Even went off his glove….very nonchalant about the whole thing. Just as Nelson’s play at third was an error. Got to work hard to get an error called in MLB. 🙂

Looks like neither Brignac or Colvin helped themselves today. Unless there’s a trade, Nelson has locked onto 3rd base for the start of the season, it appears. I’d choose EYJ and Herrera for the bench, and Blackmon may indeed be back up very soon. Rocks need a backup shortstop, so its Brignac or Herrera. Johnny H. isn’t a slugger but his OBP is better than Brignac. And he’s a great clubhouse guy (have no idea if that’s true; will we… Read more »

Speaking of trades any one heard anything about the Niemann for Friedrich deal? Niemamn has been great past few starts. Still like Friedrich long term but Niemann would be upgrade over Nicasio.

Still think roster has a big move left.

Alleged by the St. Pete media, the Rays said no the Rockies.

Isn’t Brignac out of options whereas Herrera still has an option?

Brignac out of options; Hererra still has an option. I don’t really care for Brignac and I hope the Rox don’t decide to keep him simply because he’s out of options. Cut the loss if he’s not good enough to make the 25-man squad.

I saw that the Rangers sent Coty Woods back to the Rockies. I assume that he’ll start the season n the CS bullpen.

Although the Rockies really need starters more so than relievers right now – C Woods > Rosenbaum in my opinion! So yes I like this return very much! Woods has a legit chance to be seventh or eighth inning guy in the future.

RMH, looks like Brignac playing SS is the big key. They don’t want to move Rutledge of 2b to give Tulo a breather. He has actually outhit LaMathieu this spring. Am assuming the presence of both Herrera and Arendo means trades could be in the works. Herrera has fans around the league and while Nelson has I think won the job, i am guessing he is being shopped to see what he can return. We have a nice little glut… Read more »

I just read on NBC Sports that Nelson has been named the starter at 3rd, and Arenado has been sent to the Springs.
I actually have some hope for this season. Am I crazy?

You’re not crazy. It was on twitter and the Rockies have officially announced it. Oh wait … are you talking about being hopeful??? :>)

I think you can be very hopeful about seeing offense and 4 hour games.

I think we can be “hopeful” of seeing Pomerantz soon to replace Chacin, DLR or Nicasio. Chances of all 3 going far into the season without injury or major slump are small.
