Looking for Relief From Pains

Brett and Money are in physical pain while the bullpen is in emotional pain.  The Rockies need to turn the page and look to the youngsters and the elder statesman (Hawk).  San Diego is starting lefty Robbie Erlin and he will be opposed by Juan Nicasio.  Nicasio is 2-0 with a 2.87 ERA and four quality starts (six or more innings pitched, three or fewer earned runs) in five career outings against the Padres. He has held San Diego hitters to a .224 collective batting average.

Money is thinking, “no pain no gain” so he’s back in the lineup.  Lineup stacked with RH bats. Money moves to 1B, Stubbs and Barnes in OF with CarGo.

Everybody will be wearing number 42 on their uniforms to honor the pains that Jackie Robinson has gone through to break the color barrier.   *Tipping hat to 42*

Winkler is getting really interesting. I havent’ seen him pitch, but most “experts” call him things like a “dark horse prospect” or “fringe prospect,” probably because he’s a righty who doesn’t throw very hard. But he just keeps winning, and this year he just keeps shutting out the opposition at least through 5 or 6 innings. I think he actually had a no hitter into the 6th last time out, and tonight, 9 Ks in 5.2 innings. It’ll be interesting… Read more »
