Marc’s 12 Day’s O’RoxMas: Day 11

Marc Stout’s “12 Day’s of RoxMas” continues with Day 11. To celebrate the 12 Day’s ‘Till Christmas, Marc has gathered together some of the coolest (and saddest) stats having to do with our beloved team. Stay tuned tomorrow for another exciting installment!

  • #11 – TOM RUNNELLS: The Greeley, CO native will return as the club’s bench coach. RUNNELLS played 11 games at SS with the Reds in his brief big league career.
  • RHP JUAN NICASIO made 11 starts before a knee injury ended his season on 6/2/12.
  • Rookie JOSH RUTLEDGE committed 11 errors, all as a SS. (He was errorless in his 7 starts at 2B).
  • Rookie MATT McBRIDE had 11 RBI’s. The 1st of his career came in his 1st game, in his 3rd AB, at Coors Field, when he doubled home a run off of SF pitcher BRAD PENNY.
  • Half of CARGO’S 22 home runs in 2012 were solo shots.
  • RHP MIKE EKSTROM, who signed with Oakland, allowed 11 run, all earned, in his 15 outings for the Rockies in 2012. (The club went 0-15 when EKSTROM pitched).
  • 11; the amount of home runs JAMIE MOYER allowed in his 10 Rockies’ starts. The Reds hit 4 of those 11 in MOYER’S last start on 5/27 in Cincy.
  • Closer RAFAEL BETANCOURT will begin his 11th MLB year in April.
  • And…DEXTER FOWLER had 11 triples to pass NIEFI PEREZ for the franchise lead in that category with 50. Nine of those triples happened before the all-star break; 8 vs NL West opponents.
