Matt Belisle and the Rockies agreed to an extension for 2013 that is worth just over 4 million, according to the Rockies official Twitter feed. The deal will add a mutual option for 2014. Belisle posted a 3.25 ERA with 7.3 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 in 72 innings last year, after an excellent 2010 season where his average was 2.93 over 92 innings pitched.
Matt Belisle Extended

I’m glad they gave him an extension. I’m surprised there have been no comments on Mr. O’Dowd’s response on giving Chacin a long term contract.
Haven’t read about that yet
Chacin worries me. I can see him being someone the Rockies waste a lot of money on and he doesn’t improve. If I was O’Dowd I’d want to time travel back to 2008 and kick myself for not dealing him and Stewart in a package for Cliff Lee.
Was that ever possible,Prog. For just a rent-a-player,right.ROX are never going to tie up big long term money on pitching again.
Not sure. I do recall those two chips being the ones most desirable at the time and a total reluctance to move them. Ah well, trying to move on.
Hooray! Keeps our back end of the bullpen locked up for at least two more years. While we wait for the youngsters to mature and send an oldster off into the sunset.
