The question on everyone’s mind: “Will a line drive up the middle make Nicasio flinch, nervous, drop to the ground and cover his head?” That question was answered today as Nicasio took the mound and pitched three innings in his first experience pitching to batters not on the Rockies payroll. It didn’t take long for a line drive to be hit up the middle, but Nicasio didn’t seem to even flinch, although he did think to himself, “Oh (shoot!)“. He said after the game that he was excited and not nervous and he pitched like it, hitting mid nineties with his fastball. He gave up five hits, one run and struck out two. He also didn’t hand out any free passes, which is great to see.
Tulo was the MVP of the day with two doubles, two RBI’s and a play at second that sounded amazing on the radio and when asked about it, EdTheUmp just replied, “WOW!!!”

My prediction is that Seth Smith will take him deep, but otherwise Nicasio will be perfect.
Looks like Nicasio gave up a lot of singles, but he was throwing strikes and thats awesome.
Boy, Tulo is putting on a hitting/fielding clinic!
Awesome. Glad to see Todd get an RBI too.
I believe the pic above from Ed shows Tulo’s custom made 2Low Nikes…i read about them here: http://www.solecollector.com/niketraining/?p=4404 – they are MONEY…i heard about them a couple of seasons ago and created myself a jersey with 2Low on the back…one of the perks of working for a uniform company.

I might grab a pair of these to mow the lawn…
Just a quick shout our to “our” RWO reporter on the scene. Love the PICS ED and keep em comin! Also have a brewski or two (but don’t drive) for us poor working slobs.
Yep, Ed, gotta love it. 1-5 record this spring, but only one thing worries me so far: 3B. Arenado is off to a slow start, and if he was planning to go north with the big club in April he’ll have to turn it up soon. Renck reports that Casey Blake’s bat is slow so far this spring, so I’m not liking the in-house options. Brandon Wood? Do we really believe he’s a very late bloomer? That would be great,… Read more »
Why don’t we want to start the year with Nelson if he earns it out of spring? We did similar following the World Series in 2008 when we gave the 2B job to Nix and we were supposedly contenders THEN. Now we’re projected as a 3rd or 4th place team and Nelson isn’t good enough?
