That will buy a lot of meals.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check the Onion. Very funny story.

I wonder if Jaredean’s spam filter will kill my link….
I saw this in pending. It was held (even though I have it setup to allow 1 link per post without being held) – I guess the new spam filter caught it.
I’ll have to teach it that everything you write is legit!
By the way, classic onion post. Loved the, “At this rate, I’m almost positive I’m going to sign a one-year deal so I can do this again next winter.” and the part about CC.
That’s one way to make up for V-Marts ACL tear. I sort of like it from the standpoint that Fielder and Cabrera being able to split DL/1st. But it’s so much money to tie up for so long. I remember reading a story (accompanied by lots of stats) about how quickly Prince’s father declined after his 30th birthday. I guess we’ll see!
It’s good to get both Prince and Pujols out of the NL (Braun too, at least for a while). The NL Central might not be the same for many years.
Now, Mr. Fielder and Mr. Pujols, about those taxes…
Nothing going on around here (RoxWalkOff) and the baseball off season painfully still has a few weeks left in the tank. I just thought it was really humorous that the Tigers intend to “play” Fielder at first with Cabrera at third. Just saying that they are going to have to hit a lot of dingers to make up for the runs allowed with that infield defense. Other teams like the Tigers apparently don’t value defense as much as the Rockies… Read more »
I value defense in general, but IMO too much is made for the lack of defense at 1 position. If you have 7 average or above average defenders sticking someone like EYJ at second to benefit from his speed isn’t going to kill the team. Same with Giambi when he gives Todd a day off. If there is an offensive benefit I can certainly sacrifice defense at 1 or 2 positions any given day. Once you start talking about 3… Read more »
It is one thing to give a pass for bad defense to someone like EYjr, it is quite another to give a pass on defense to someone that was just paid $24 million a year for 9 years…i was stunned that he got what he was holding out for – a contract pretty darn close (per year wise) to Al’s…I don’t understand paying a 1 tool player (hit for power) that much money…Maybe he is considered a 2 tool guy… Read more »
Cargo and Tulo contracts looking like a steal everytime I read another free agent signing.
