Resistance Remaining?

The Colorado Rockies, losers of 8-straight and 15 of 17, aim to stop streaking versus their Division rival Arizona Diamondbacks, who’re making a late drive for the second NL Wild Card slot.  The Rockies send left-hander Jeff Francis (5-6, 5.58) out to face right-handed Dbacks ace Ian Kennedy (14-11, 4.08) Sunday afternoon at 1:10 at Coors Field in Lower Downtown.  Francis has been alternating good and bad starts.  He lost Tuesday to the Giants, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings at AT+T Park. Kennedy has turned it up for the stretch, winning 3 of his last 4.  He beat the Padres Tuesday, holding them to one run over 8 innings on 7 hits.  He struck-out six.

Right-handed batters Cody Ransom and former Rockie Wil Nieves are on for Arizona manager Kirk Gibson, hitting 7th and 8th at short and catcher.  [Overmatched] Colorado MFL Jim Tracy, back from buying breakfast for Troy Renck of the Post, has shortstop Josh Rutledge leading-off for Dexter Fowler, With Ty Colvin in center-field, flanked by Charlie Blackmon, hitting 2nd, in left and Andrew Brown in right.

The early autumn weather in Denver remains pristine.  Game-time temperature will be 81° under partly sunny skies and 13% relative humidity.  Wind will blow-in from left at 5 mph.  Here’s hoping ROOT Sports’ Drew and Jeff are out of in-game interviews for 2012.  Jack Corrigan and Jerry Schemmel are on radio KOA 850 am.

“[Overmatched] Colorado MFL Jim Tracy, back from buying breakfast for Troy Renck of the Post”

LOL. You have a gift Jeem.

Most of the press in town like Tracy. He learned their names early in his tenure. It’s just human nature not to rag on somebody you like. And the part in Renck’s article that he has heard that DoD is encouraged obviously came from DoD himself. I’ve been watching only bits and pieces of the games the past week or so but it seems like the MFL keeps changing pitchers until he finds one that is having a bad game.… Read more »

Back in August like a fool I allowed myself to dream just a little bit about the Rockies potential for 2013. Now it is late September, and I know that I should have known better than to trust the MFL, who can safely put not ONE, not TWO, but THREE Septembers on his resume that his team has completely QUIT on him.

Trust me this would be impossible anywhere else in the MLB?

Jeem, you forgot to mention who won the foot race. Saturday Fresh edged out Toothy, but Toothy was close to clinching a post-season berth.
And the baseball was in the #1 Floyds barber chair.

I don’t care how many games the Rockies lose as long as they keep having fun entertainment like that to draw people to the ball park.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
