Need…winning…streak…NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I am disappointed Torrealba is not catching Nicasio today. Its clear Juan needs a change, immediately. Short of sending him down, seeing if Yorvit can get him on track is an option.

I kinda have a weird feeling the Rox are going to come back and win this game, down 5-0 right now. I’m totally sober too.

Why was Weiss starting a bunch of lefthanded hitters against Travis Wood? Lefties have batted .210 against him in his career. And today: Cargo 0-4 2 K Helton 1-2 Blackmon 0-3 Not to mention my new object of scorn, the swing-for-the-warning-track EY v. 2.0. A switch hitter, yes, but 0-4 is 0-4 any way you look at it. Meanwhile, Pacheco sits today. Watch Helton get some rest against a righty later this week. Weiss is supposed to be a LaRussa… Read more »

Pacheco should play for Helton virtually everyday.

And Nicasio: I really think he’ll be sent down after this one. Renck’s been making those noises for a while, and he usually is parroting someone in Rox management when he does that. The only thing saving him is a truly awful start for Chatwood yesterday. Nicasio just can’t put hitters away.

Yet he settles in ok after the second. If he had nice early innings and struggled late at least we could argue he belongs in the pen, but what can you do with a guy who constantly gives up runs in the 1st inning?

Nicasio needs to be sent down to log innings as a starter. Give him 75-100 innings in AAA and see what he’s got. If he struggles, then move him to the pen and hopefully next season he can begin to contribute as a RP. Chatwood did have a bad outing, but that has been his only bad outing. He deserves to be up imo.

I can’t and I won’t watch anymore of Nicasio’s starts. He makes me feel like I am wasting my life watching him pitch. He has De La Rosa’s composure and Esmil Rodger’s pitching ability. Send him down! Hopefully BIG BABY Pomeranz is almost ready to put on his big boy pants and join the big club. With options like Chatwood, Roy Oswalt, Aaron Cook, Big Baby Pomeranz there is no reason to put up with Nicasio. I am not ready… Read more »

Ha Ha! That is how much I dislike Nicasio! I would rather take my chances with Aaron Cook…. Yeah, I probably should have left that name out.

I wouldn’t say I am sold on Chatwood being an ace or anything, but he had 2 solid starts at the big league level which is more than Nicasio has had in far more oppurtunities and Chatwood has pitched very good in AAA except for his last start. Chatwood has to do it over the long haul, but I believe he has earned the oppurtunity over Nicasio.

I have to think that Nicasio needs to head down to C Springs for the very reason Pomeranz was sent there. With only 1 effective pitch and that with not a lot of movement, he needs to develop his secondary pitches. You throw it down the pipe even at 95, these boys will (and have) light you up.

Let’s put the “Cook” story out to pasture. That ship has sailed and we shouldn’t call it back to shore.

Go Rox
