Starting rotation to affect bullpen competition
Got to sneak over to the work outs this morning. Was able to meet Giambi and chat with him a bit (nothing too deep, just a couple minutes). His “nice guy” attitude and “approachability” showed through and through, he chatted up us fans, signed everything in front of him and just seemed to be enjoying himself.
Had a blast by the way!!

Also meant to mention that we watched Moyer for a while. Although the pitchers were doing VERY light throwing and workouts while we were watching, he was really engaging the younger guys and doing a lot of talking with them (not a shock to anyone I’m sure-was just cool to see).
I hope he does well!

TJ – don’t you just love Salt River Fields? The layout of the facility is pure genius. You can go just about everywhere, and see just about everything, from a very close perspective. I remember walking around the D-Backs side last year before a Rox game and could get with 10 feet of Kirk Gibson and staff. They were hilarious. We’ll be back down in mid-March.
Yes, its laid out beautifully. Being able to catch the players as they walk between the fields is great. I told my friends, imagine you’re at a (VERY NICE) little league field, your hands in the chain link fence watching infield practice. The difference is that Todd Helton is at first and about 20 feet away from you!
