Rockies Prospects Thread

1.  Brendan Rodgers                11.  Trevor Story                 21.  Kyle Parker

2.  Jon Gray                              12.  Tom Murphy                22.  David Hill

3.  David Dahl                           13.  Antonio Senzatela        23.  Jordan Patterson

4.  Jeff Hoffman                       14.  Tyler Nevin                   24.  Sam Moll

5.  Ryan McMahon                  15.  Dom Nunez                   25.  Correlle Prime

6.  Forrest Wall                        16.  Peter Lambert             26.  Alex Balog

7.  Mike Nikorak                      17.  Ryan Castellani             27.  Jairo Diaz

8.  Kyle Freeland                     18.  Jesus Tinoco                  28.  Helmis Rodriguez

9.  Raimel Tapia                       19.  Rosell Herrera              29.  Emerson Jimenez

10.  Miguel Castro                    20.  Cristhian Adames       30.  Carlos Herrera

Looks good with the recent Tulo trade acquisitions and this year’s draft.  But I disagree with some names up there.  How could MLB totally leave out Kevin Padlo who’s raking and stealing bases in Boise against average 2.5 years older?  I think Balog and Moll should trade places.  Senzatela left the game early yesterday pointing to his shoulder, not good.  Hey, EdtheUmp I told you about Correlle Prime at spring training!!!  But he could be blocked by Tyler Nevin.

Matt McBride not on list, but called up as Drew Stubbs is DFA’d.

Geez – I knew McBride was older, but didn’t realize he was 30. He’s sort of a modern day Crash Davis.

RMH – it was Zach Jemiola that left the Nuts game after 3 1/3 last night with an apparent shoulder issue, not Sentazela.

MLB network in their top 50 prospects show from the other night had Brendan Rodgers at #11 and Jon Gray at #35. No other Rockies made their top 50 list.

Wow, Stuffs was DFA’d. I didn’t see that coming. Do the Rockies save any real money if another team picks him up? Or is the point to give McBride some ABs and see what he can do as major leaguer. (He’s certainly raking in AAA, but so did Joe Kosansky and Ryan Shealy; are those the correct names — it’s been a while?) We know that we’re not resigning Stubbs, but we might resign McBride if he looks like he… Read more »

It was nice seeing Cargo, DJ, and Paulsen in the studio and getting airtime this morning on MLBtv. I have to agree with the talking heads. If Cargo gets put out on waivers he would most likely would be pulled back. It was alleged the Rockies are presumed to be asking the world for him and he won’t make it to the higher placed teams. The projection was the Phillies, Indians, or White Sox would claim him. If Cargo goes… Read more »

I see significant potential for a White Sox / Rockies match with Cargo in the offseason.

Before the Amateur Draft and Tulo trade, I thought the Rox Farm was overrated. Very little legit pitching. Lots of nice offensive players, but no truly elite difference makers. The draft and Tulo trade have helped, but more work must be done.

Jordan Patterson seems kind of low to me on the list. Check out his numbers so far this year (and in every year he has been in the minors really). I know he has been a year or so older than the competition at most stops but that isnt ridiculously older. And now he is younger than league average at Double A and still raking. What I like most about him are the reports on his leadership and stellar attitude.… Read more »

Jordan Patterson is getting a little bit more Corey Dickerson-esque now. May be another one of those sleeper prospects. And Rosell Herrera is unfortunately headed right off these lists. Second chance to make the jump to a high A, second failure.
