After having a pretty good home stand (yes, 5-5, but think about the fact they played the two best teams in the NL and a team that is playing good ball since it fired its manager). But they were fairly well shut-down on get-away day vs. Cards and then they were shut-out on a night when Chris Russin was, been saving this one for a while, just a bit outside.
So in order to stop the 2 game slide and get back over .500 on the road they turn to team ace, Kyle Kendrick. No, wait, I mean the rotations worst member. Darn! Well, to be fair, he threw 7 strong last time out vs. the Fish but go offensive support. So, if he can do that again and get some runs…and runs…they have a pretty good chance against the Fish. At least on paper. Where baseball isn’t played. Except in Rotisserie baseball. Which isn’t baseball. At all.

I am guessing 4 runs wins the game. Question is, since they havn’t scored 4 runs in the past two games combined, can they get there tonight?
Rox one run in two games = two losses
WW needs to take Managing 101. Double to lead off 8th inning against strikeout pitcher. BUNT BUNT and its a tie game. Instead it’s K and another K while runner still standing at 2B. We are on the road NOT at Coors Field. Doh
You mean play REAL baseball? Even bunt and ball in play next up would have worked.
Oberg picked a bad time to learn how to pitch better. It’s not the HR that bothered me, it’s the two walks that was the killer. Get one of those 2 walks, it’s 3 outs and we’re in the dugout.
Perusing the baseball blogs/websites, I see the Mets might be interested in Aramis Ramirez and the Nats might like Aroldis Chapman (what’s not to like – right?). RMH – you linked a nice article focused on the theory this might be a good year for sellers. Part of the art of trading in baseball is knowing when to pull the trigger. The Rox presumably will shop aging and very brittle “stars” Tulo and Cargo. One strategy is to hold out,… Read more »
Fart noise
In his first game at Albuquerque, Eddie Butler gives up two runs in 7 innings (he gave up both runs in the 7th inning). Maybe he can get himself straightened out in AAA.
Fully expected. Another example of the Rox abundance of 4-A players.
We know that the Rockies management has low expectations for the Rockies and I guess Dr. C. agrees with them. A 5-5 home stand is not acceptable to me. Especially a Coors Field. I know Walt thinks it’s good. He even said they finished the home stand well. They lost the last game! But when we agree with him? What’s wrong with the picture. Walt has a great job. He screws up but he knows it’s almost impossible for him… Read more »
