Sorry all, I had no idea this was a day game. I have been on my way back from Manchester, England and thought “I can just post this in the Red Carpet Club when I land. And the stupid game is already on!
Quickly, here are the lineups as the Rox attempt to at least go 2-4 on this short trip.

Pitching Matchup is Chris Russin vs. Velasquez
[sac_happens]
From batters 5-9 in the Astros lineup the best BA is .241. Yet Rusin can’t mow down 5-9. It’s Gray Wolf time. Rusin already up to 75 pitches in less than three innings. HOMER HAPPY: The Astros have hit multiple home runs in 24 games this season and in those 24 games, the Astros are undefeated…per Elias, this is the longest winning streak in multi-homer games in franchise history…the previous record was a 22-game streak, set in 1994. Well I think it is safe to say that Rusin was a flash in the pan.
Maybe bullpen LOOGY?
Jon Gray tonight:
2 ER
3 H (2-run HR)
1 BB
8 Ks
6 IP
Pitches-strikes 96-59
ground out-fly out: 9-1
It’s safe to say that he will arrive Sunday. The brass can’t possibly overlook the 8 Ks and 9-1 GO/FO ratio.
I noticed from the box score that Kyle Parker left the game after one AB and was replaced by Tim Wheeler. Parker coming back? Or hurt?
Yep, RMH, it’s time. Rotation of the kids is in order: Bettis, Gray, Butler (after a couple more AAA starts), and we hope Matzek after he gets his head screwed back on straight. And Kendrick as the veteran whatever-he-is. Let the youth movement begin!
No JDLR????
Ag’s getting” shelled shocked” Matzek won’t be back this year but it is time to give Gray his baptism of fire.
If JDLR is going strong a month from now, I think you trade him.
Absolutely you trade JDLR (and Axford) if possible.
Teams are looking for #1 thru #3 tier SPs cuz playoff teams only need three SPs for the post season. Would DLR be good enough to be slotted into #2 or #3? That would be tough to find his dance partner.
I find it interesting that as many clubs are rapidly signing their new draftees, the Rockies have not reported a single signing of any of their 2015 draft picks.
I think July 15th is the deadline. I don’t know for sure what that means, but under the bonus column a few draftees have the $$$$ next to their names. But if they are actually signed, the MLB Tracker says “signed” instead of the $$$$ figure in the bonus column. So I’m guessing the bonus figures are verbal agreement. Signed means the ink is dry. Blank means no agreement yet? Link to Draft list with signees (or not): http://www.purplerow.com/2015/6/16/8790005/colorado-rockies-draft-signings-tracker-brendan-rodgers 12… Read more »
I stand corrected. They signed RHP Jones on the 15th. Nine more were signed yesterday and 2 so far today.

Bob – various sources are now reporting Rodgers has signed. Surprisingly, under slot. I’m reading numbers like 500-700K under slot.
That bodes well for having some extra cash to sign the pitcher from southern California that has signed at UCLA.
MLB Rumors is reporting a signing bonus of $5.5 million that is $732 thousand below slot. Probably wants to help get his buddy Nikorak signed.
