The Rockies will attempt to prevent a sweep by the Arizona Dbacks tonight when Juan Nicasio (5-3, 4.06 ERA) takes on the wily veteran Bronson Arroyo (4-4, 4.39 ERA). Jordan Lyles had been placed on the ever growing disabled list with a broken hand. Chris Martin was recalled from Colorado Springs to take Lyles’ spot on the active 25-man roster. That effectively makes it a nine-man bullpen tonight as shown on the lineup card below.
Starting at 5:00 pm MT the MLB draft will be televised, with the preview by MLBN at 4:00 pm MT. The first pick by the Rockies will be in the eighth position. It will be an interesting action in the first half of the first round. Purple Row’s popular choice is Kyle Freeland, but other experts have been all over the place as to whom will fall to the Rockies and be taken by them. We can enjoy the first one and a half hour of the draft before switching to ROOT RM TV to watch the Rocky Horror Show. One change from last night’s game – Drew Stubbs in CF.

Wow. Boone Logan to DL. Waiting for corresponding move.
Dropping like flys. Two biggest pitching additions now on DL.Can Tulo be far behind?
Wow – didn’t see this one coming (seriously). Frankie now has to stay in Pen. Corresponding move will be SP.
Rockies #8 overall pick is Kyle Freeland! From Thomas Jefferson HS here in Colorado.
The way things are going he maybe in the rotation by July 4th by default!
Forrest Wall selected as #35 overall by Colorado. LH hitting second baseman from high school. Scouts day he has very advanced approach at plate.
Rockies select with #48 pick Ryan Castellani an 18 year old RH pitcher. Throws good sink.
