Rox Face LHP Quintana

Colorado Rockies seek to clinch their second consecutive home series tonight.  Jose Quintana will be a major test for the hitters wearing purple pinstripes.  Not only is he a left-handed pitcher, but his style is similar to Wade Miley who stifled the Rox over the weekend on 19 ground ball outs, including five GIDPs.  With the win last night, the Rockies evened their record to 4-4,  one game behind the Dodgers (5-3) and 1 1/2 behind division leader Giants (5-2).  Kerosene will be auditioning to stay in the rotation tonight with Tyler Chatwood slotted to pitch Sunday (4/13)  which would necessitate some movement on the pitching staff.

My lineup tonight would be:

1 Barnes RF
2 Cuddyer 1B
3 Gonzalez LF
4 Tulowitzki SS
5 Arenado 3B
6 Pacheco C
7 Stubbs CF
8 LeMahieu 2B
9 Morales P

Let’s see how close I get

Actually flip Barnes and Stubbs in the lineup. So Stubbs would be leadoff and Barnes hitting 7th

So this would be the day to give Cargo a “scheduled day off” lest we keep that hot hitting and momentum going ….

Our lack of depth was certainly exposed tonight.

Morneau plays against the left-hander? And then will rest Wednesday against a right=hander? Not sure I get that logic. Last night I was flipping between Rockies and the Uconn-Kentucky game so I might not have gotten this right, or if I did maybe they corrected it. But at the beginning of the game Drew and Jeff showed and talked about a stat where they said that Cuddyer and Morneau had each played 500+ games against the White Sox and that… Read more »

Ugly, ugly game. I’ve always been a Morales fan but he didn’t do the job tonight. Actually after 6 he kept us in the game but Walt tried to get another inning out of him and it blew up. Bettis pitches well when it doesn’t matter but couldn’t put away Abreu and Lopez can’t pitch at Coors.

During the spring I kept hearing that the Rockies had improved their bench. Really? Stubbs, Barnes and Culberson?

Wiltin’ wilted…and should be gone. The team can’t survive him.

I liked “Molten Lopez” (chat comment – who do I give credit to?) best.

Wiltin’ Lopez works too.

Keep ’em coming!
