Nicely said, Jared. And Gary! Gary, regarding your comment on the other thread about Ringolsby, etc.: The Cowboy was clearly frustrated with what’s going on. And Jim Tracy in his post-game comments just looked defeated to me. He kept saying “it’s a chore” figuring out how to handle his pitching staff. “It’s a chore.” Not very inspiring. I think Jim Tracy is a really decent guy. I criticize his decisionmaking, but he seems like a genuine person, always polite and… Read more »

I should note that Ringolsby wrote an article on Fox Sports (“Coaching Rockies Pitchers Takes Toll”) that provides some insight on Apodaca. Describes him as just burned out. Again, I don’t blame Apodaca for being burned out, and I think he was overall a very effective coach. But how can any organization go forward when it’s leadership is defeated, burned out, describing their jobs as “chores?” I’m convinced the overhaul is coming very soon. No other way to put it:… Read more »

But if DOD remains as GM, who would want to coach here? It raises the horrifying possibility that DOD would appoint himself as the team manager.

The take I get from Cowboy is that he’s finally taken off the purple sunglasses and sees that DOD has taken us all for chumps. Nothing worse than standing up for someone over the years only to discover he’s the fraud other’s have contended all along. Looks like the only person sill seeing purple is Dickie Monfort. With loyalists like our manager for life and Ringolsby speaking out maybe Dick will see the light and clean house.

I caught innings 5-7 on the radio (or technically MLB@bat on my phone) coming home from work last night. It was like listening to paint dry (except of course when the Nats put 2 more up in the 7th-the announcers seemed like ‘here we go again’). Seems top to bottom everyone has nothing left in the tank to give or even care. I agree with you Ag on JT, I think he’s a good guy and for some reason I… Read more »

Is Cabrera going to stay with the Rockies, or was he just filling in for one game? I was at the game last night, and he is clearly not ready to be a Rockie. He needs more time in the minors. It sounds like Pomeranz will be up before too long. So, maybe the rotation will be Francis, Friedrich, Outman, and Pomeranz, with Nicacio coming, and later Chacin. Still not great, but maybe a step in the right direction. Hopefully,… Read more »

While listening to parts of last night’s game on radio, I heard something interesting coming from the talking heads at KOA. During the time Guthrie was pitching and struggling, Corrigan mentioned that Guthrie was at about 45/50 pitches. But than he said something that totally blew me away. He said that Guthrie appeared to be running out of gas. Really, at about 50 pitches? Wasn’t this guy a starter just a few days ago programmed and conditioned to go at… Read more »
