What’s the record for longest losing streak in MLB history?

The 1889 Louisville Colonels hold the record for the longest losing streak in official MLB history at 26 games, though the 1875 Brooklyn Atlantics lost 31 consecutive games in the National Association, a number not considered official by MLB. In the modern two-league era, the longest losing streak belongs to the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies at 23 games. In the American League, the 1988 Baltimore Orioles hold the record at 21 games.

The Rox won’t get there. I hope.

Can you say Cleveland Spiders, 1899, 20-134.
Or 1916 Phillies, 36-117.
Or the most recent bad team, 2003 Detroit Tigers, 43-119.

I guess the Rox couldn’t be that bad tho……

Later in the same inning Blackmon struck out but the 3rd strike was dropped. Chances of Blackmon beating the threw to first or more likely a bad throw to first less than 5% if Blackmon runs toward first, chances of Blackmon beating the threw to first or more likely a… Read more »

If they win those five Bill I’ll start a fund to keep you out of town the rest of the summer. The 14-37 is almost exactly the record since I broke down and signed up for Root on my Dish. Not a sound decision with my social security..Thanks for the losing streak info guys.I thought it was around 20 or so.
