Rox Turn to Sunday Lineup in Rubber Match

The Rox had their first hiccup of the season after a drubbing by the Cubs.  Today marks the first test of the young season to bounce back from a bad game.  It is a rubber game as Colorado attempts to start the season series record at 2-0.

Jon Axford has been placed on family leave as his son is transferring to another hospital (presumably here in Denver area).  It is minimum three days and maximum seven days he will be absent.  Scott Oberg has been called up and I’m still waiting to hear what the 40-man roster transaction will be.  Let’s see if somebody on Agbayani’s long list of DFA candidates will take a hit.  The only other possibility I can think of is JDLR moving to 60-day DL which is highly doubtful.  JDLR will make his scheduled start on Tuesday in Abuqueque to build up a little more arm strength.  It has already been announced that Christian Bergman will start Tuesday in San Francisco.

The starting nine suspiciously looks like a Sunday lineup.  We can only hope it’s not bad omen.  Tulo and Nick Hundley are taking their day off today.  In their place will be that billionaire shortstop, Daniel Descalso and Fort McKenry.  Relax Tulo lovers and haters, it is just a scheduled day off according to Walt Weiss.

UPDATES:  It was Charlie Culberson who was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for Oberg.  Axford’s son did take a turn for the worse and he is still presumably transferring to another hospital.  Prayers to the Axford family.

Hundley could use a day off. Dickerson in 5 hole should be interesting – he’s leading the league in RBIs.

Looks like Olt wasn’t as ready to go as he thought. Wonder if Cubs are in retribution mode.

Rattlesnakes SUCK, prayers to little Axford and family.

With all of the quality bullpen guys on this team there is no reason to have Letroy Hawkins as you’re closer.

My new official campaign-“DUMP THE HAWK”.I was an early adapter of dump Ian Stewart, and pretty much the instigator who caused Ag to start “blame it on Wilin”As I ranted in the Kendricks thread{I was so pissed I blew up in wrong post],this wasted a game this team cannot afford to give away.Play Ynoa at short not the obviously over matched Descalso.Stupid, lousy, horrible loss that ruined a beautiful Sunday.CAN NOT AFFORD TO LOSE LIKE THIS AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just fast forwarded through the game and caught each batter’s result without seeing all the pitches. Went fast, but I saw a lot more than I wanted to. Terrible defense, too many walks, pickoff, plenty of runners left in scoring position, blown huge lead. Looked a lot like last year. Six games with 5 or more runs and 10+ hits but only 4-2. Not time to panic but that was awfully disheartening. Go watch something more enjoyable: Game of… Read more »
