Understan totally Jardean. Sounds like my week. Only saw some brief bits on MLB, but good out for DLR. in 09 and 10 (and the beginning of 11 before the elbow started to snap), his demeanor totally changed from his KC days. Much more than the poor outings his mound faces were disconcerting (I still remember the game that we saw the shift in 09, think it was against the Cardinals, and Tracy Ringolsby all post game focused on how… Read more »
Dr. C, can’t tell you again how good it is to see your posts here… I completely agree on The DeaLeR, he looked pretty shaky, but then he seemed to just calm down in the third to where if he was kept in a couple more innings i think he would have had some good shutdown stuff. They did talk about his worry early on in the spring with putting pressure into those pitches that required it, so it was… Read more »

Jardean I meant the pen was a top 6. NOT the rotation. That is not just rose colored glasses to say that sort of thing, that is i think 5-10 years in florence for peddling that kind of thing. This rotation is very stinky….at current. Probably better than only the Astros (quick, aside from Bud Norris, who I still think is not with the Stros at the end of the season, name one other starter for the Astros). Now I… Read more »
ah! that makes much more sense…you had me wondering if i was watching the same starting rotation as you 😉 Yes, our pen is legit – i love our guys there and if we can keep Belisle happy by not putting him in as much, and in as many pressure situations, then he should be back to his good ol’ numbers. I also think Betty will be a solid closer again, but i’m a bit worried about the report i… Read more »
The MLB.com report said that Betancourt has bought into WW’s aggressiveness and his time between the pitches has been the same as the MLB average. He really likes the speedier deliveries as of now.

Yeah, that was the report I read that made me nervous. Not a fan of changing something that works and I felt Betancourt worked.
