Rox Visit Arizona Again 4/29/2016

After twice coming back from large deficits twice against Pittsburgh but coming up empty-handed, Colorado is back at Chase Field to clash with the D-backs.  After a month of baseball, it is becoming clear that their M.O. is bad starting pitching and the offense have their ups and downs.  Until the rotation is improved, they will continuously play from behind by five or so runs after the first few innings.

Charlie Blackmon has been activated and will be back in the lead-off spot.  This is the best news for Tulo2.7 because Blackmon led the majors in most pitches seen per at-bat which can only help Tulo2.7.  To make room for Blackmon on the 25-man active roster, Brandon Barnes was optioned to ABQ.

RWO Rox lineup

Game time at 7:40 MDT.  At approximately 10:00 MDT there will be a Gopherg souvenir served into the swimming pool in right center field.  Game televised on ROOT_RM and aired on 850AM radio.

It’s going to be a (good) challenge to manage his innings. Sending Barnes down was the correct move. Oberg gets a temporary stay of execution (OK – bad analogy). Broncos find an Aussie kid who came up playing Australian Rules Football, found his way to downtown Atlanta and… Read more »

RMH – it’s interesting that you mention Giolito. I’m hearing from my friends in Asheville that Brendan Rodgers is the 2nd best Prospect in the SAL-ly League. The best? Victor Robles, another Washington Nationals Prospect.

I’m gonna go out on a limb: Freeland is ready. In fact, the AA starting pitchers are all off to a ridiculously good start. Here’s the top 4 (and this doesn’t include Senzatela, who’s on the DL and hopefully won’t be down for long). I can’t get the formatting straight, but all you need to know is that the first decimal number is ERA, and the last one is WHIP: Kyle Freeland 3 1 0.87 5 5 0 0 0… Read more »
