The Rockies have probably seen .500 for the last time before yesterday’s game. Jordan Lyles toes the rubber today and he has been simply disastrous since the day he reported to spring training. Tony Wolters continues to languish on the bench watching Nick Hundley finish out his contract.
I unfortunately will be at the game tonight with a friend. The weather is perfect, but I will suffer the consequences of Lyles pitching slow and getting into deep counts on just about every batter, even the pitcher. The only good news is that Jason Gurka pitched three innings last night which saved the bullpen for tonight and tomorrow.
Over in the Bosox Nation, Fatso Sandoval placed on DL and Josh Rutledge former Rockie contract selected to replace Fatso.
Big rallies always start with 4-pitch walks. Idiot.
Other than the Story story, it seems just like 2013, 2014, or 2015 all over again.
Parra is the most idiot OF on the Rockies. 2nd time in 2 nights threw to home plate where there is no play and allowed runner on 1st to move up who eventually scored on a cheap single.
Idiot, trying to steal 2nd with 2 outs and pitcher batting. Flip the lineup over. Fire WW.
RMH…
I thought the exact same thing. One of the worst in-game decisions I have ever seen. IMHO ww (lower case letters are on purpose) has been in over his head pretty much from day one. And who could blame him what with coming from a high school program to the major leagues. I just shake my head…which is pretty much most games.
Well, i’ll tell you one thing that is new about this season – RMH has dumped his Purple Kook-Aid in the back garden EARLY and is coming out swinging!!! If i didn’t know the score already i’d think by multiple “idiot’s” being thrown around that the Rox lost this one…
🙂
I like the new, tough, RMH!
Remember when Tommy Kahnle was DFA’d, the CWS claimed him, and a deal was worked out between the 2 Clubs? Very young SP Yency Almonte was the player that came our way. Yesterday @ Modesto, 5 IP, 9Ks, generally dominant effort.
Remember how many times the Marco Gonzalez name was thrown out in potential Rox/Cards deals? Gonzalez is headed for TJ surgery.
Remember when the Halos Nick Tropeano was rumored for a Rox OFer? Due to several injuries and/or just general old age and ineffectiveness, he’s now in the Halo’s rotation and looked VERY good in his first start in Oakland.
lol! Don’t know is “Kook-Aid” was a type or not, Jared, but it perfectly describes my inability to stop caring about the Rox. Love the players and the fire this particular team seems to have in spite of what ownership saddles them with. Arenado is fifty times the leader Tulo wanted to be. Go Rox.
Laughing, I didn’t realize I used the word “idiot” three times in three comments. I was at the game last night and I knew they had to play baseball the right way. They got away with three “idiot” plays.
Blackmon to DL with turf toe. That’s a “lingering” type injury.
So…..we recall Dustin Garneau. Go figure.
