Bettis vs. Corbin. Two guys that came into the season with some “realistic” promise, yet both have generally come up short so far. In other words, another entertaining, evenly matched Rox/Snakes game on tap for today. Both bullpens are thin and tired. Hot summer day at 5280. With Bettis pitching, Jake Lamb will no doubt be back in the Snakes starting lineup…..giving them a real two-headed offensive monster in Goldschmidt/Lamb. Rox seem healthy and should counter with an almost “A” lineup, including Wolters. All signs point to another 12-10 type game.
Toronto rolls into Coors next, and I expect more of the same. Offense, offense, offense.
The Rox currently sit 35-39, 7 games short (lagging behind most teams by a couple of games in total games played to date) of the halfway point of the season.

My best Homer Simpson impersonation: “DUH.”
Hundley in for Wolters. WW obviously learned something Managing in HS that makes him far smarter than I.
The Pirates just DFAd Cory Luebke. Former highly regarded potential SP. LHed. Unfortunately, he went the Chatwood route with 2 TJs. Fought back and has been in and out of the Pirates pen this year. Given the state of our Pen and our eternal need for long relievers, might not be a bad pickup.
Well……this game is progressing exactly as expected.
Far, far, far from over.
What a game!
Early reports seem to indicate Story’s finger isn’t fractured. DJ’s knee…..who knows. We may see a DP combo of Adames/Descalso today.
We’ve got to get at least one of Butler/Bettis straightened out, or it’s going to be a long, long summer for the BP.
And hope neither Story nor DJ are out a long time, or we’ve lost two of the top reasons to even watch
RWO! Very satisfying win. Was surprised it was Reynolds’ first walkoff ever!
Let’s win tonight to keep momentum going! Just got back in town this morning and going straight to work from DIA.
