I just noted that there will be the third annual SABR Analytics Conference in Phoenix March 13-15. $395 for early registration. If you are a sabermetric fan, it’s a good conference where all the well known baseball experts including Buster Olney will be talking about sabermetrics and how it’s applied. On a side note, there is a SABR Day on January 25th at several locations around the country. Denver will have it at 5:00 pm at the Breckenridge Brewery on Blake St in LoDo on Jan 25th. I guess there is a conference call or some kind of multimedia broadcast over the internet; I have no idea how that works. The Denver coordinator says to bring ball cap and mitt for the traditional game of mass catch across the street. Not sure of it. I didn’t see any costs involved in the online flyer to attend SABR Day. Just google SABR Day for more details.
SABR Days

I might have gone for the SABR conference, but it appears that it will be during the daytime and I ain’t skipping the ball games! But the SABR Day on Jan 25th looks enticing to me. Agbayani – since you’re the resident sabermetric expert you going to be there?
SABR day in Denver is free to all who attend. Rocky Mountain SABR welcomes anyone to their local meetings and the annual Hot Stove meeting held on this day is no exception. “Join us if you can. If you do be sure to say high to me.”
I’m laughing cuz I’m wondering if you are referring to the you-know-what that just became legal in the state of Colorado.
I attended the SABR Day at Breckenridge Brewery. It was an enlightening panel discussion facilitated by Marc Stout. sabrchip was also there to listen in. I recorded the discussion on the state of the Rockies and its sabrmetrics on the smartphone. If and when I can figure out how to create a file out of this and post the link, I’ll do it. It lasted about 1 1/2 hour. I think jaredean can help me out on that. Before that… Read more »
