After the eighth walk off of the year last night without much zest, Colorado decided to go to a Sunday lineup. Franklin Morales (5-7, 5.46) will go against a real good pitcher in Tyson Ross (13-12, 2.60). Wilin Rosario has been activated off the DL, but he will not be in the starting lineup. The Rockies plan to activate “Money” Michael Cuddyer tomorrow. Today is a day the management will sit back and evaluate the prospects for the 2015 team while the Rox throw away the game today against Ross.

Throw away? Ah, no. Definitely a pleasant surprise.
Can we just, like, play the Padres every game? Two shutouts at Coors in a 3-game set … has that ever happened before? The only bad part of today’s game (which I didn’t see … football and all that) is that Frankie throwing 6 shutout innings makes me wonder whether Matzek was really that good or these Padres hitters are really that bad …
Ag, neither “neither Matzek that good” nor “Padres hitters bad” – it’s called game-calling behind the plate. McKenry knew Matzek from Springs and if the ROOT announcer said it correctly Jackson Williams had one of the lowest catcher’s ERA in the minors when he’s behind the plate. That my friend is game-calling which is why I’m tooting my horn to move Rosario out. Game calling saves more runs than Rosario can add with his bat.
Agreed!

as usual, you are correct in positing the game-calling importance.
