The Colorado Rockies have only three games remaining against the division nemesis San Francisco Giants, those deevils with all that starting pitching the Rockies covet. Tonight they’ll send their marginally competent left-hander Jeff Francis (5-5, 5.68 ERA) out against SF righty Tim Lincecum (9-14, 5.09 ERA), who’s looking to make it 5 seasons of 10 or more wins in his 6 season MLB career. Game time is 8:15 at AT+T park in San Francisco. The two matched-up last Wednesday in Denver. Lincecum was the winner, going 6 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits. He walked 4 and struck-out 8. Francis was the loser and was lit-up early, allowing 5 runs in inning one. He lasted only 3, gave-up 7 hits, walked none and struck-out 5 in the 8-3 loss.
Wilin Rosario will be back behind the plate for the Rockies, knockin’ ’em down for Jaredean. Josh Rutledge gets a rest with Jonny Herrera hitting 8th at short. Jordan Pacheco will move up to the 2-hole, behind Dexter Fowler, who will lead cheers. Hector Sanchez will catch for the Giants, Buster Posey moving to 1st-base. Xavier Nady remains in the lineup in right field, again batting 7th.
It looks like a damp, chilly night at AT+T, 54° under partly-cloudy skies. Relative humidity will reach 100% with wind blowing out toward right-center at around 10 mph. Standard media is on-duty, TV on ROOT Sports, radio KOA 850 am.
