Chapter 5: Three in D

The Rockies have their first game of a three game set against the Tigers tonight.  The ripples of the Tigers trade for David Price are still reverberating.  Frankie Mo has the pleasure of pitching against none other than Justin V.  Taking bets on how much the Rox will lose by…Shoot, they can’t even win a series in Chicago, what hope is there against a real team?

I was glad to see CarGo hurt. Finally something forces him out of the lineup when he’s really a 5th outfielder. He’s batting less than .100 since ASB? Brandon Barnes even as bad he is still outplaying CarGo.

You know what RMH? That kind of makes sense to me. At this point of this lost season I really have no need to see Cargo again. You might as well let the young guys play. And if they do o.k., then maybe we’ll deal Cargo in the offseason like we should have done right now. I agree with your sentiment, but it’s already too late. If these 2 guys can’t manage to play any more than about 100 games in their 25/26/27 year old seasons, how do you think they’ll fare in years 30/31/32? I really thought the window started to close last year………but Tulo gave us a glimmer of hope with his great start this year. He was a perfect candidate to trade before the all-star break. Interesting take, Ag, but I’m more inclined to follow the psychological cop-out path the Rox have learned to master over the years. Management looks at shelving players early in the season so as to save wear and tear which also gives them a built-in excuse for failure.
