Tulo Out of Line-Up for Rubber Match

Troy Tulowitzki will be watching the game tonight from the dugout, as Tracy has decided to give him a day off to clear his head. This isn’t a surprise to those fans who have been following his alarming rate of errors, six so far this season with multiple error games in the last four. Scutaro will slide over to short giving up 2nd to Herrera. Rosario will be behind the dish again tonight as Hernandez is out again with a sore hand.

Line-Up vs Padres:

Marco Scutaro (SS)
Dexter Fowler (CF)
Carlos Gonzalez (LF)
Michael Cuddyer (RF)
Todd Helton (1B)
Wilin Rosario (C)
Chris Nelson (3B)
Jonathan Herrera (2B)
Juan Nicasio (RHP)

Is there something wrong with Hernandez? That’s two days in a row that he’s not in the lineup.

I would have Cuddyer always split up the free swinging duo of Tulo and Cargo. Those two back to back has not proved to be the deadly combo that it should be. Here would be my lineup when Tulo returns.

Scutaro
Fowler
Cargo
Cuddyer
Tulo
Helton
Hernandez
Nelson

Nicasio is going to dominate tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Rocks!! Win another series!!

I agree here with you Pooter regarding Cargo/Tulo 3/4 combination not being what it is supposed to be.

Tulo would be a wonderful 5 hole hitter. That isn’t a demotion at all…any Rockies fan that has followed this would recognize that Tulo is better when there isn’t expectations of the HR.

Moving him into the 5 could really pay off.

Another option would be to move him to the 2.

Fowler
Tulo
Cargo
Cuddyer
Helton
Hernandez/Rosario
Scutaro
Nelson

I wouldn’t bat dexter leadoff. Swap Scutaro and dexter and I’ll be ok with that lineup

Like it.Could really be a move that could solidify lineup and might just be a small move that could pay huge dividends.

I’ve never liked Tulo as the cleanup hitter. And Prog is right; that’s not a demotion. I just agree he needs some pressure off his shoulders.

Go Nicasio!

I have terrible vibes about tonight ‘cuz it’s the rubber game and we’ve hardly showed up for those types of game.

please prove me wrong! Rosario has to be the MVP tonight. The way he has been receiving the pitches has turned a lot of pitches just out of the zone into strikes.

Him or the ump.Helton got seriously screwed on a couple of pitches.

Great bats tonight from the bottom of the lineup! Nelson doing well and Sparkplug with an opposite field HR – wow. Nicasio looks terrific. There seems to be more energy all around tonight.

That’s Jon “Yardman” Herrera.

Regarding Tulo and batting order ( numerous comments above ):

While well thought out and maybe even correct, I hope the batting order doesn’t change simply because one of my primary Tracy complaints is that he tinkers too much ( still guilty of this on Sundays ), but so far this year he ‘s more or less stuck with the same BO.

You guys remember “Bull Durham” right? Tulo just needed a rainout.
