Big difference between Dex and EY. Even when he’s slumping Dex will get walks. His OBA is much better than EYs.

Remember when Jim Tracy had the Fonz hitting cleanup? ๐Ÿ™‚

That was laughable. Maybe he was in tune with his HGH regimens.

Before some of you jump on EY Jr. for being 0-4 let me explain. Because I have to pay for MLB TV to watch the Rox I was able to watch this game. The first at bat was a shot that was caught at the wall. The second at bat HE ACTUALLY TRIED A BUNT FOR A BASE HIT, however, it hit off the plate and the catcher made the play. Third at bat was a hard hit grounder which… Read more »

Well, I was hoping to go 5-5 during this NL West run…we’ve got our 5 wins…and win a second series in a row. I’ll take it. Boy…to take the series in SF would be sweet. Lets light up Timmy like last time!

1/2 game back of the Giants! Woohoo. This team is actually showing some resiliency after that horrible 3 week period to start May.

5-2 home stand in the division, you bet we’ll take it! Next up: that scenic house of horrors…

I would be satisfied with one win out of SF, would be thrilled with 2 wins. If the Rox were to win 3 I would prolly die of excitement. Way to take the first 2 series of this stretch, now go take the 3rd. Need great pitching and great defense to win in SF, hopefully it will happen for the Rox.

Just read on the Post website that when Cuddeyer comes back, Josh Rutledge will be sent down. I like DJ at 2nd. Does that mean that EY Jr. is again a backup infielder?

I would hope that Josh can get his swing back and perhaps learn to play OF and/or 1B. Unless DJ fails miserably at 2nd Rutledge has no where else to play. He certainly isn’t going to beat out Tulo or Arenado. But Helton is on his last legs and I’m guessing Cuddeyer won’t be here next year. If Josh can learn to play a few more positions he can become more valuable than EY. I would think he is already.… Read more »

Cuddyer has a three year deal, so he’s guaranteed another year in Colorado in 2014.

Cisco, you bet put in your ticket orders. Rockies are 26-21 with 8 games left in May. 3 in SF, 4 in Houston, 1 vs. the Dodgers. Let’s say they go 0-4 against the halfway decent teams. That’s 26-25. They’d only have to split against the worst team in baseball to finish May over .500! Too early to say Rutledge is done as a starting second baseman. But it’s obvious that he needs work on his defense (and remember, he… Read more »

Ag, I’ve already resigned to the fact the Rox will be at .500 come June 1st. I was planning to go to the Dodger series that weekend, but it’s my wife’s birthday, so I won’t be able to go. I’ll have to catch a game on the next home stand.

The way that i understand it is that there are 2 games in Houston followed immediately by 2 games against Houston in Denver not 4 games in Houston.

Ian Stewart update (since we’re talking LeMahieu and Colvin): Stewart was so awful on a rehab assignment in Iowa that the Cubs decided not to bring him back to Chicago. Instead, they just optioned him to AAA Iowa when the rehab ran its maximum 20 days, so he could just sit tight in Des Moines. Oh well, at least Ian could keep playing for the Iowa Cubs through the weekend and try to get his swing back (he’s hitting .148… Read more »
