The Rockies will run Tyler Chatwood, arguably the teams “ace”, out to the mound tonight against Zack Greinke. The same Greinke that was the center of two NL West brawls (Padres and DBacks) will bring his 5-2 w/3.94 ERA to Coors looking for his 3rd straight win.
Chatwood’s last two, on the other hand, were both losses but not from lack of pitching. He took the big L against the Nats and the Mets while lowering his ERA from 2.33 to 2.13 in the process. He only gave up a single run in both games, while going six innings in each, but the offense just couldn’t get it together to earn him the win.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of post-game last night. I’ve been sick, we have company and my wife is now down pretty sick as well. Tonight might be difficult too, but i’ll give it the “good ol’ college try” – it will be easier if we win 😉
I just thought the game was so boring that you thought it best to ignore. Chatwood will do it tonight…predicting a win big.
ha! yeah, it was a very brutal game…not fun when you don’t feel well to have such a poorly played game on!
Roidpuig making us look bad again.
I am so pissed at Cargo that I want to give him the water boarding treatment as if he’s a P.O.W. until he decides that its not worth being stubborn to keep swinging at balls way out of the zone.
Six pitches out of the zone and CarGo struck out. another water boarding session is needed for him.
That was Chatwoods first classic Rockies choke inning. Tough pitch for Rosario, but the WP/PB happens way too often when he’s catching.
The Mid Season High Altitude Clown Show returns to the dusty cowtown.
Torrealba needs to replace Rosario. He’s on the way too setting a MLB record for most passed balls in game.
It’s tough when you flinch at pitched balls and you’re the catcher.
July 3rd, 9 45 pm. The night the Rockies said “maybe next year”. Gutless baseball!!
I was at last night’s game and never found saw when, or if, they posted if those were wild pitches or passed balls. This morning’s paper had all three as WP but I thought Rosario could have caught them all. And of course he dropped that throw from Chatwood in the first. He looked scared that Puig would have knocked him down. Was real disappointed with Helton’s play last night. Bobbled the ball in the first which led to the… Read more »
